Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mike Okiro yesterday underscored the severity of the nation’s security situation, informing the House of Representatives that only the whole national budget of N2.87 trillion was enough to effectively police the country.

“The whole budget of Nigeria would not be sufficient if the police have to be fully equipped as to be able to combat crime in the country,” the IGP stressed.

As a fall-out of the appointment of Cobalt, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Union [NUPENG] and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria [PENGASSAN] of the Department of Petroleum Resources [DPR], issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to reverse the decision or risk industrial disharmony in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
