NFF May summon Bosso over Flying Eagles' ouster Disappointed by the tame campaign at the maiden WAFU Under-20 Cup, also known as Ibori Cup, holding in Delta State, officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are contemplating changes in the team to avoid another calamitous outing by a Nigerian team this year, after the disastrous campaigns by the Golden Eaglets and all the female national teams in international competitions. To this end, the NFF plans to summon Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso to explain his team's loss to Senegal in the quarterfinal of the WAFU Cup over the weekend. The Flying Eagles lost to Senegal on penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw during the regulation time. And dissatisfied by the team's overall performance at the competition, sources say the NFF would begin an inquisition that could cost the coach his job. The first step towards nipping any impending disaster in Rwanda in the bud, the source said, was to invite Bosso and his assistants to Abuja to defend their selection and tactics before the NFF's technical committee and explain the circumstances behind the selection of what is considered a 'weak' team. Meanwhile, Flying Eagles former star, Ndubuisi Okosieme has described the team's quarterfinal exit at the competition as a disgrace, saying that it showed that a lot of things were wrong with the country's youth football. According to Okosieme, "it's a big shock hearing that the Flying Eagles have been knocked out of the competition in the quarter finals. I believe if they had had more time to prepare they would have scaled through.__ "In the years past, the under-20 team had been flying the colours of the country very well. The only way to make things work again is that the right people should be put in the right places.__ "When I say the right people, I am talking about the coaches and the players. We need to put things straight again in order to get the team back to where they used to be," he said.__ The former Super Eagles star is also worried that the crash to Senegal might just be a prelude to another disaster awaiting Nigeria at the African Youth Championship (AYC) in Rwanda next year.
